Canoeing is a Great way to spend a spring, summer or fall day.  Whether a single person kayak outing or a 20 person family outing on the river there is fun to be had by all!! 

Canoeing the Kankakee River is fun and simple, no previous experience needed, it is a great way to get outdoors and enjoy the river from a perspective you cannot get anywhere else!  You can launch your own kayak or canoe into the river at a launch site or you can rent one (or more) from Reed's, a full service rental which will even drop you off and pick you up when you are done!

Kankakee County can boast multiple beautiful camping grounds accessible to all the River has to offer.  Camping by tents, RVs, or even staying in a cozy little cabin can be an enjoyable and naturally refreshing experience.

Dining on the river can be quite an experience, there are restuarants whose windows display the beauty of the river as you dine, and others where you can actually dock your canoe or boat for a refreshing break from the water.

Boating on the Kankakee River comes in many forms, from the relaxing pontoon boat rides in the spring to the Power Boat Nationals in the Fall!  There is an adventure for everyone, all season long on the Kankakee River.
